“The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him Immanuel—which means, ‘God with us.’”

Matthew 1:23
The coming of our Savior into this world would begin like any other day, yet history would never be the same. In the little town of Bethlehem, Jesus was born. God’s divine plan of salvation was now set into motion for all mankind. Immanuel, “God with us,” was alive, in the flesh! In roughly three short decades, the baby would be grown into a man, the God-man who gave His life for us at Calvary.

When we were living in Iowa, the church we attended there would approach Holy Week intentionally, remembering the suffering of Jesus and the emotional intensity experienced by His followers. There was a special prayer service and the Lord’s Supper on Good Friday, along with a time of reflection. The culmination was Easter Sunday, with the men cooking breakfast and invitations for all to stay for worship. We celebrated our risen Savior. Two thousand years later, our celebrations at Easter time and beyond remind us of the glorious truth that God is with us.

He is alive and well! He arose from the dead and is available through faith for you today.
