“The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. He then brought them out and asked, ‘Sirs, what must I do to be saved?’”

Acts 16:29-30
Contributed by a believer in an Asian country: I have seen God work in amazing ways in response to the prayers of His people. The gospel-centered evangelism ministry in my country continues to grow while we fervently pray, dependent on the strength that only He can give.

I know a man who grew up Hindu and was married to a woman who had walked away from her Christian faith. One night the man became gravely ill with severe chest pains. I was contacted and arrived at midnight to pray over him. Eventually, he began to feel better and then slept well through the rest of the night. His family took him to the hospital in the morning, and to their shock, every test came back normal! As a result, both this man and his wife accepted Jesus as their Lord and Savior!

I was reminded of what happened to Paul and Silas after they’d been beaten and jailed in Philippi. God heard their ardent prayers and then used an earthquake to free the prisoners. Through these means and through Paul’s gospel message, the jailer and his family believed in Jesus.
