“As I was with Moses, so I will be with you; I will never leave you or forsake you.”

Joshua 1:5
If you look around and see all the conflict and trouble going on in the world, it’s easy to lose heart. I have friends who have struggled mightily throughout the last couple of years, one who even has fallen into a deep depression. In troubling times like these, we must remember God is trustworthy.

He keeps His promises. He promised He would never again flood the whole earth (Genesis 9:15). He promised to multiply Abraham’s descendants (Genesis 26:4). He promised Mary a son (Luke 1:31). He promised to never leave or forsake you (Hebrews 13:5). The list of promises He has kept goes on and on. If ever we doubt His goodness, just remember the promises He has already kept.

Whatever new evil or trial comes our way, God is still on His throne. He will intervene in His perfect timing. When it feels like the world is crashing in all around us, when it feels like we can barely stand up under the weight of it all, when it feels like life brings one agony after another, we hold on to the One we know is truly trustworthy: Jesus.
