"... the men said to them, 'Why do you look for the living among the dead? He is not here; he has risen!'"
(LUKE 24:5-6)

Luke 24:1-12
Carrying the spices they had prepared for Jesus’ body, the grieving women went to His tomb on the first day of the week. The boulder was rolled away; the tomb was empty. While they stood there astonished, two men in gleaming robes appeared. Their question about looking for the living among the dead must have added to the confusion. After all, the women had witnessed Jesus dying on the cross. And who were these strange men?

The men reminded the women that Jesus had said, “The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, be crucified and on the third day be raised again” (v. 7). It all began to make sense! They hurried away to tell the disciples and were met, of course, with immediate responses like their own: disbelief mingled with hopeful, “Could it be?”

In the next days Jesus appeared to them and to many others. The reality of what had taken place became what all of Jesus’ disciples would stake their lives on. The resurrection of Jesus Christ changed their lives and would change the world. Has it changed you, too?
