“One thing I ask of the LORD…: that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to gaze upon the beauty of the LORD and to seek him in his temple.”

Psalm 27:4
There sat Jesus, God incarnate, on Mary’s lap while the diplomats from a far-off land worshiped Him. Just try to imagine kneeling before the little one, Jesus, knowing without a doubt you were in the presence of God.
God created us to connect with and worship Him, drawing to Himself the lowly and the exalted alike. When we worship Him as Lord, we give Him the gift of our heart. But He gives us so much more— the gifts we receive in worship are of immense value.
Worship puts us in line with His power, peace, and divine guidance. We begin to understand the overflowing of David’s heart. He loved to worship God. He sang about it, wrote about it, and took joy in it.
As a child I often woke in the morning hearing worship music my parents had playing (usually the Haven Quartet!). Worship sets the tone for our hearts and minds. Listen, sing, and praise as you begin your day. And remember that the gift of worship goes on! Charles Spurgeon said “praise is the rehearsal of our eternal song,” one we’ll continue to sing in heaven one day.
