“Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you ... for I am gentle and humble in heart.”

Matthew 11:28-29
Depressed to the point of wanting to take my own life, I phoned the Haven Today office and shared that I was being abused by my husband. He’d kicked me out of our house with our 23-month-old daughter. Often I’d spend the evenings in the car, and one night I tuned into WDCX out of Rochester, New York, to hear Charles Morris speaking on divorce and remarriage.
Raised in a Sikh home, I was taught to admire Jesus as a great teacher, saint, and even God—though one of many gods. I was brought up believing Christianity was a Western religion of lower moral and ethical standards. So you can be sure that questions arose when I heard the Haven program teaching about the transforming life of Jesus.
Ultimately, I prayed over the phone to accept Christ and receive the promise that my sins were forgiven. Haven sent me The Jesus Storybook Bible and Basic Christianity. A year after my life- changing phone conversation, I visited the Haven office in Vancouver to express my appreciation for leading me to the one true God. Have you found Him, too?
