“Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity.”

Colossians 4:5
Daily we are given chances to live out the gospel and pass it along to others. Paul assumes that our walk with the Lord will involve stepping into the world of “outsiders.” It’s why he writes repeatedly (in Romans, Ephesians, and Colossians) of “making the most of every opportunity.” But what does that look like in our lives?

Each week I meet with a group of guys for prayer and Bible study. They are growing in their faith and often share stories of their connections with those who do not know Christ. Hearing how they are offering friendship, hope, and care to non-believers is mutually encouraging.

Chaplain ministry has provided occasions for me to invite officers and families to our home for a meal and to get acquainted. I let God do the rest! Even this devotional booklet you hold in your hand is perfect for passing along to someone you meet in the doctor’s office, or to the UPS driver delivering at your door, or to anyone God puts in your path.

Take every opportunity—in your words or in your actions—to share the good news of Jesus.
