“He said, ‘This poor widow has put in more than all the others. All these people gave their gifts of their wealth; but she out of her poverty put in all she had to live on.’”

Luke 21:3-4
Contributed by Judy in Kenya: Our gospel-focused ministry is Homecare Spiritual Fellowship, a family-focused ministry that uses social transformation to reach families for Christ with the gospel in the Kibera slum of Nairobi.

We minister to 400 children in a safe, loving, encouraging environment by providing meals, Bible teaching, education, and mentorship. These efforts create opportunities to share the gospel in an otherwise hopeless place. We try to follow Jesus’ teaching, “I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me” (Matthew 25:35-36).

With the many different needs before us, we cling tightly to Jesus’ words about the woman who anointed him in Bethany before He went to the cross: “She has done what she could” (Mark 14:6).

At times we feel overwhelmed; the physical and spiritual needs of these children are great. But we want to do all we can for the sake of the gospel.
