“Enter through the narrow gate. For wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life.”

Matthew 7:13-14
Jesus came to earth to rescue His people and make a way for them to enter heaven. He told a rich young ruler that he needed to give all of his money to the poor because his money was keeping him from surrendering his heart. Gloomily, the man went away, missing his opportunity for heaven. The four Gospel books tell the story of salvation, but each hearer of the Word is required to accept or reject that good news.
In many ways it would be easier to forget about heaven and eternity altogether and just seize each day for what it is… live like there’s no tomorrow. But I challenge you to live your life for and with Jesus. The journey is indeed an exciting and surprising one. It will have its ups and downs, but you can travel through knowing your Savior is holding your hand the whole way.
I accepted Christ as my Savior when I was a young boy, more than 70 years ago. Jesus paid the price for my salvation, and I am confident that the day I leave this old earth, I’ll go through the narrow gate called Eternal Life.
