“‘Go,’ said Jesus, ‘your faith has healed you.’ Immediately he received his sight and followed Jesus along the road.”

Mark 10:52
News of the miraculous power of Jesus of Nazareth had spread to Jericho. Even Bartimaeus, a blind beggar in that city, had heard it. The noise of the crowd indicated to him that someone of importance was passing. When he learned it was Jesus, he called out for mercy. His shouts continued though many told him to be quiet. And then Jesus stopped and gave His attention to him. They spoke. Instantly, Bartimaeus’ sight was restored, and he followed Jesus.

When our great-granddaughter entered the world prematurely, we called out for God’s mercy. Each day brought new assurance that God had heard our cries. How wonderful it will be one day to relate to her the miraculous power of God that sustained and saved her life.

While you and I may not have the physical presence of Jesus with us, His Spirit dwells in the hearts of His followers (John 14:15-17). Calling out to Him at our deepest point of need is still appropriate. He hears your cry and knows your faith. In His perfect timing and providence, He will care for you.
