“The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you. The LORD turn his face toward you and give you peace.”

Numbers 6:24-26

The Jewish faith is the faith of Abraham. God told Abraham that “all peoples on earth will be blessed through you” (Genesis 12:3). As an ethnic Jew, I should be able to trace my ancestry through Abraham, his son Isaac, and his son Jacob (whose name was later changed to Israel). This is the same bloodline through which the Jewish Messiah was to come.

Jesus was a Jew. He was born into the Jewish tribe of Judah and into the kingly line of David. Jesus fulfills all of the messianic requirements and prophecies found in the Hebrew Scriptures.

But today, it is no longer about ethnic background. Jesus is not just for Jews, and He’s not just for Gentiles. “If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise” (Galatians 3:29).

All people can enjoy the manifold blessings of God. If you come to the Jewish Messiah by faith, you will enjoy His blessings of grace and peace. You will know that you are chosen, destined, and adopted. You will rejoice that you are redeemed, forgiven, and free.
