“Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you.”

2 Thessalonians 3:16
Paul had written about the second coming of Christ, and some believers in Thessalonica then grew idle while waiting for His return. When many decided to quit working, dissention arose within the church. Paul impressed on them that they were not to sit around doing nothing. He urged them to persevere in their faith, “and never tire of doing what is right” (v. 13).

In this month after our resurrection celebrations, it has been good to remember that Jesus did not rise from the dead to ascend to heaven and just leave us. His presence through His Holy Spirit remains with us forever. We go forward in whatever paths the Lord presents to us now, learning each step of the way how to serve Him and love Him well. And we go with the blessing of His peace because the Lord Himself is with us.

How precious that God’s plan for us is to have confidence in Him with His daily and eternal blessing of peace, something we need now more than ever. What a high call, remarkable opportunity, and spiritual privilege it is to walk and work in His presence.
