"'Behold, I make all things new...' He... showed me Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, and its brilliance was like that of a very precious jewel,
like jasper, clear as crystal."
(REVELATION 21:5, 10, 11, KJV)

Revelation 21:1-27
My wife and I recently enjoyed a cruise on the River Danube. The closing highlight of the trip was the exhilarating sight of floodlit Budapest. The Parliament building, the castle, the old Imperial Palace and many more waterfront buildings combined to present quite a magical city vista. Suddenly, it all reminded us of the coming thrilling experience of the New Jerusalem. This familiar chapter in Revelation seemed to
come alive!

The very next day we arrived home and saw the television coverage of the Queen’s Jubilee. There was the Queen in front of Buckingham Palace, surrounded by thousands of exultant spectators enjoying the musical celebrations. Immediately, we thought that this, too, was a foretaste of the scene in Revelation 5:11: “Then I looked and heard the voice of many angels, numbering thousands upon thousands, and ten times ten thousand. They encircled the throne ….and sang ‘Worthy is the Lamb, who was slain, to receive power and wealth and wisdom and strength, and honour and glory and praise.'”
