“When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him?”

Psalm 8:3-4
God calls us and blesses us in unsearchable ways. Sometimes He uses magnificent art to get our attention. Once we notice Him in it, His Holy Spirit works in us. With sparked imagination, we begin to comprehend Him. We recognize His powerful love for us His children as He draws us to Himself. Our attention to Him in the artistry of this world is a mighty step to enjoying His myriad promises.

Christian artists are prophets, so to speak, in the business of getting people to see spiritual truth. Today we experience culture in sound and sight bites. In shorter and shorter segments, we rapidly consume vast amounts of information. Communicating the immense value of the gospel in this world is challenging.

But a thoughtful “visual theologian” will impress upon the viewers of his or her artwork something unique that makes them wonder about the triune God of love. Behold! Each piece of Christian visual art can awaken a viewer to the salvation and freedom in Jesus Christ. Even without words, art teaches and celebrates the Living Word, our Jesus.
