“Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

Matthew 6:34
Recently, I have been more anxious about things that I would not have worried about as much before. Pandemic-related fears have had many of us worrying more than ever.

Through his ministry in Bristol, England, George Müller, cared for more than 10,000 orphans. He trusted God’s provision even so that one day when there was no food or money and the children were waiting for their meal, he prayed, “Dear Father, we thank Thee for what Thou art going to give us to eat.” Immediately, the town baker arrived with bread, followed by the milkman with milk. I wonder how many of us would have trust this deep!

I know that trusting God is tough when circumstances are overwhelming. I’ve felt worry creep in, as you probably have too. Still, God knows we are prone to anxiety when we’re overwhelmed. Jesus commands us in Matthew 6:25 not to be anxious. Then He gives several reasons why (vv. 25-34). He knows that we are hit from every direction with cause to worry and be anxious. Know that there are many more reasons to place our trust in Him!
