“Preach the Word; be prepared in season and out of season.” 2 Timothy 4:2 “The Counselor, the Holy Spirit… will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”

John 14:26

Years ago I visited Europe with my friend and former singing partner, Elizabeth. We spent a month traveling and sharing our music ministry with U.S. troops and at various churches. It was an unforgettable time, and we witnessed God’s almighty hand at every twist and turn of the trip.

One evening, we met a young lady in a hostel who was downtrodden and searching for purpose. We didn’t have much of an opportunity to talk with her that night, so we prayed for the Lord to let our paths cross again. Two days later, we woke before the sun to catch our train. As we headed to the station, we spotted through a flurry of snow the same young lady coming our way. She was scheduled to ride the very same train!

God blessed us with hours of wonderful conversation as we traveled. She had many questions, and we were able to point her to the cross of Christ, telling her the reason for our hope (1 Peter 3:15). God’s living Word welled up in our minds and hearts as the Holy Spirit put His words on our lips at just the right time!
