“We have not stopped praying for you and asking God to fill you with the knowledge of his will through all spiritual wisdom and understanding.” Colossians 1:9

Colossians 1:9
As followers of Jesus Christ, we want to be growing and maturing in our faith. Paul made it clear that prayer is part of that process. These verses define direction in prayer for us. God wants us to understand His will and then have the wisdom and power to perform it daily. Just think of the privilege it is to listen to God, to seek His heart, to talk to Him. Other religious traditions do not include that.

You might listen to Scriptures as you drive on the morning commute. You might grab some quiet moments when the baby takes a nap. Perhaps Bible reading is what you do before you sleep at night. I sit at my table—Bible open, notebook and pen handy—and listen to God in silence as I read His Word. I make short notes as God gives wisdom, ideas, and simple understanding. Then I pray for practical ways to live out His truth. I’m thankful for “being strengthened with all power” (v. 11) to put God’s direction into action.

Pray that God will keep you faithful. You never know whose life your prayers and your example may have an impact on.
