“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Romans 8:28
Sometimes we are privileged to have a “look behind the curtain” with the ways the Lord works all things together for good in our lives, as Paul assures us is true. When a stroke eight years ago forced me to transition from my job as a corporate real estate attorney into areas of volunteer work instead, I had no idea what “good” awaited me. But I’ve been able to see many instances where the hard situation I’m in fits exactly into His plan.

Not everyone can testify to this. Many have circumstances with no apparent light at the end of the tunnel. They have prayed year after year, yet nothing seems to change. Even as believers in Jesus Christ, they begin to wonder, “What’s so good about the good news anyway?”

I know that I think more about the gospel and read my Bible more from a gospel-centered perspective than ever before. This month we’ll focus on what is so good about the good news. The final week’s devotions are written by several volunteers working in locations around the world, sharing the gospel message of salvation through Jesus.
