"For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship.
And by him we cry, 'Abba, Father.'"
(ROMANS 8:15)

Romans 8
The Spirit of God is called the Comforter because He reveals the everlasting love of the Father – the perfect love that casts out all fear – in the hearts of those who believe. He opened my heart to embrace that love even while I was shaking my fist at Him in a maximum-security prison. Imagine the comfort that began to flood over me!

By nature, we’re all children of the devil (Ephesians 2:1-3). We have no right to God’s love. But by His death on the cross, Jesus Christ has set us free from our spiritual bondage (Hebrews 2:14-15). We who were once children of the devil
have been brought into the family of God (Galatians 4:4-7).

Adoption is one of the deepest mysteries of the Gospel. Only Jesus, the eternally begotten Son of God, has a natural right to the love of God. But in Christ, God the Father has given everything to those who deserved nothing. I know exactly how that feels; I suspect you do, too. “Now if we are children, then we are heirs – heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ” (Romans 8:17).
