“But God remembered Noah.”

Genesis 8:1
It started out with pouring rain: my sixth birthday, my pool party day. I tried to hold back tears, but it seemed that the rain was contagious. How could God rain on my party? Did He not care about me?
Noah must have asked himself the same question every day of the weeks and weeks he spent on the ark with his family and an army of animals. He had watched the entire world he loved flood right out of sight. Was this the only way to deal with the wickedness on the earth? Would God remember him and his family or let them drift until they ran out of supplies?
“But God remembered Noah.” In fact, God never forgot him. He had a much greater plan for the earth than Noah could imagine. Stuck on the water, caught between sky and the deep abyss, Noah didn’t know that God was going to make all things new. Just ahead would be an everlasting covenant with all living creatures that would someday be fulfilled in Jesus. Jesus would reign sovereignly over the waters of death. All of us who find refuge in Him would be safe from destruction.
