“He fell to the ground and heard a voice say to him, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute me?’ ‘Who are you, Lord?’ Saul asked. ‘I am Jesus, whom you are persecuting,’ he replied.”

Acts 9:4-5
Saul had achieved success. He was wealthy and well-educated. A high ranking Pharisee, he had access to the high priest who granted his request to go to the synagogues and take as prisoners those who were following Jesus Christ. He was zealous and passionate, and his heart was murderous against the Lord’s disciples.

Just imagine the dramatic divine interruption Saul experienced that day on the road to Damascus! The voice he heard was unfamiliar, so he inquired who was speaking. Jesus identified Himself and gave instructions to Saul. This powerful man, struck with such force and blinded by a heavenly light, was now dependent upon others. It was a life-changing moment, to say the least.

The Lord reached into my heart when I was a young child. He continued calling to me during my rebellious teen years. Your own pathway to faith may have been spectacular, or it may have come gradually and quietly. In any case, a call from Jesus cannot be ignored. He will meet you where you are, show you His great love, and change your life.
