My wife teases me about how I seem to be able to strike up a conversation with anyone at any time when it comes to talking about fishing. What she doesn’t realize is that this is an almost universal dynamic among anglers. There is sort of a fellowship that exists among people who have a genuine love of all-things-fishing. Whether it is sharing a piece of shoreline, being together on a boat, or lingering in the aisles of a tackle shop, you find that you have an instant camaraderie with other passionate fishermen.
Christians share a bond of fellowship that is greater, deeper, and more transformative than any mere hobby. When we are among the people of God, we are surrounded by those we are connected to spiritually because of our relationship with Jesus. The passion that God grows within us is meant to be shared with others. In this way, we encourage and strengthen each other.
I pray that you will know a deep sense of joy in sharing the love of Jesus, a joy that is made complete when brothers and sisters in the Lord live in unity.
