Charles Morris Steps Back
Charles Morris became the fourth Speaker and President of Haven Ministries at the turn of the millennium. Envisioning a radio broadcast that would both evangelize and disciple listeners into the 21st century, he has been sharing the Great Story that’s all about Jesus with countless people for nearly 24 years.
Today, for the fifth time in Haven’s history, Charles Morris is excited to hand the microphone over to David Wollen in 2024. Stepping back but not away, Charles will be assuming an emeritus position as David takes Haven into its next era of ministry.
Charles Morris became the speaker at Haven Ministries in September 1999.
On January 8, Charles Morris will introduce David Wollen to Haven Today listeners.
Although Charles and David will co-host in early 2024, David will have an increasing presence on Haven and will ultimately become the primary voice of Haven’s broadcast ministry over the coming months. As time progresses, Charles will dial back his presence on the program while continuing to serve in a supportive role.
It’s not common for ministry leaders to have the opportunity to pass the baton to a friend, but that is exactly what’s happening here. In addition to previously working closely with Charles at Haven for over a decade, David also spent several years in international missions with Far East Broadcasting Company, a sister ministry to Haven.
David looks forward to carrying on the mission of this Christ-centered ministry into a new and exciting era, all while reaching more people with the hope and light of Christ every day.
Meet David Wollen
Appointed President of Haven Ministries in November 2023, David Wollen is thrilled to gradually assume the role of host for Haven Today in 2024. He resides in the greater Chicago area with his wife, Marci, and their three children. They are active leaders in their church, where David serves as an elder and part of the preaching team, and Marci leads women’s ministries. He sees this as synonymous with Haven’s longtime tagline: “Telling the Great Story … it’s all about Jesus!”
