“They took note that these men had been with Jesus.”

Acts 4:13
It’s not unlike God to take “unschooled, ordinary men” to make a difference for His kingdom. If Peter and John were right next to us now, we’d sense immediately that they had been with Jesus.

I knew a fellow once of whom you would have said the same—that he’d been with Jesus. I and several others were working for the Far East Broadcasting Company on the Island of Saipan to begin a radio network broadcasting the gospel to all of Asia. There was a knock on the door one day, and Rev. Ed Kalau entered. He said, “I was with the Lord this morning in Isaiah 40 and praying about your opportunity. Verse 15 leaped out to me: ‘He weighs the islands as though they were fine dust.’ God encouraged me to fly here and affirm your goal on Saipan.” Ed had been a fighter pilot for Germany, survived the war, was released from a POW camp, and became a follower of Christ. Now his ministry was to facilitate missionary air travel throughout Micronesia.

We were greatly affirmed that day by a man who’d been with Jesus. When you’ve been with Him, it is evident!
