“I keep asking that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the glorious Father, may give you the Spirit of wisdom and revelation, so that you may know him better.”

Ephesians 1:17
I read about the new school Common Core curriculum in an article titled, “Strengthening the Core.” It is supposed to make education more relevant, strengthen the focus of students, and give a more fair assessment of students nation-wide.
When we come to faith in Jesus Christ, when we worship in our churches and participate in assorted ministry activities, we daily need to strengthen the “core” of our faith. It is our Heavenly Father who gives us “the Spirit of wisdom and revelation,” and that is how we come to know Him better. Paul wanted his friends in Ephesus (and us) to understand the great spiritual resources that are ours in Christ. The moment I close my eyes to God, His Word, and His Spirit, I allow the core of my faith to be weakened. This must not happen.
Embracing spiritual truths will produce godly knowledge and insight, and the personal experience of knowing, walking, and enjoying Him. The theme of the world-wide Navigators ministry has been, “To know Christ and to make Him known!” Let it become yours, too.
