“Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. He who goes out weeping, carrying seed to sow, will return with songs of joy, carrying sheaves with him.”

Psalm 126:5-6
Can life still be good when it isn’t what you wanted? Yes and no. Yes, if you accept that this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Yes, if you trust He is working for your good as you love Him and are called to His purpose. No, if you remain focused on your will and your ways. No, if you try to bend God’s designs to fit your own. No, if you think “a perfect life” is what you’re entitled to.

The greatest sorrow of your life may always sting, but it need not fester. The Lord promises us that those who sow in tears will reap with shouts of joy. Do the work set before you. Be faithful in the calling He has designed for you. Do not feel as if you must have an ever-present “stiff upper lip.”

In Christ, we know that we will one day be part of the richest harvest. He will come for us. He will gather us up to Him, and these days with their hardship will prove to have been merely a mist. “Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes” (James 4:14).
