"For he himself is our peace, who has made the
two one and has destroyed the barrier,
the dividing wall of hostility..."
(EPHESIANS 2:14)

Galatians 5:22-26
Do you think of yourself as a peacemaker? God calls us to be peacemakers in a world that is filled with strife, unrest and chaos… even if we do not want to be. He gave us specific mandates about cultivating peace in our lives.

Practice personal peace – in contrast to worry – as an act of our will (Colossians 3:15). Peace does not come automatically or passively. We must pursue it, making every effort to do what leads to peace (Romans 14:13).

Maintain peace, and therefore unity, in the church (Ephesians 4:3). It is in that unity that others will know God is real.

Live peaceably with everyone – as much as it is possible for you (Romans 12:18). We may have to give up some personal “rights” to do so.

And most wonderfully of all, know that Jesus Himself is your peace! The Prince of Peace, He came to this earth to do away with the dividing wall of sin that formerly kept us from Him. Now we have been brought near to Him, His love and peace growing in us and producing a harvest of righteousness and peace!
