"For he has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son he loves, in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins."
(COLOSSIANS 1:13-14)

Psalm 68:28-35
The Man of Steel is faster than a speeding bullet and has been reinventing himself since the 1930s.Why are we so fascinated with Superman?

From comic books to television and now a newly rebooted movie franchise, some say it’s Superman’s power and strength that keep us coming back for more. But the director of the new movie series, Zach Snyder, believes there’s more to the Superman mythology than meets the eye. “The Christ-like parallels – I didn’t make that stuff up… That stuff is there…That is the tried-and-true Superman metaphor.”

Hero stories found in every culture around the world tell of a rescuer who can save humanity from evil. It seems we’re wired to look for a hero. But it’s only the Bible that points us to the true Savior who rescues us from the dominion of darkness, offering us redemption and forgiveness of sins.

It’s fun to watch movies like Superman, but these stories should cause us to praise our true Savior who, more than a comic book creation, has the power to rescue us daily from the grip of sin.
