“There is the sea, vast and spacious, teeming with creatures beyond number—living things both large and small.”

Psalm 104:25
My husband, two boys, and I spent a month in the U.S. and British Virgin Islands in 2007. Our favorite pastime was snorkeling in the clear blue water. We were just off St. John when I saw a reef shark. It wasn’t huge, but I was unsure if the boys (then eight and nine) would panic, so I signaled up and told them we’d head back… slowly. They were disappointed I hadn’t pointed it out!
What strikes me every time I go under the water is the vast beauty hidden there. I am amazed at the artistry God put into even the tiniest fish! If He put such care and glorious detail into them, I am convinced He cares about the details of my life.
Sometimes we’re afraid to bother God with our predicaments. We think He’s too busy with big problems like world hunger and cancer. But God wants a relationship with us. He cares about the obstacles we face, big or small. “Cast all your anxiety on him, because he cares for you” (1 Peter 5:7). All means all—the mountainous problems and the nagging little irritations alike. Look for Him in the details.
