“And this is love: that we walk in obedience to his commands. As you have heard from the beginning, his command is that you walk in love.”

2 John 1:6
What we are celebrating at Christmas time is that Love came down to us. When God pulled back the curtain of heaven and angels appeared before the shepherds, they were announcing that Love had come down. Never would there be a gift to equal the gift God Himself was giving: a Savior.
But love is sometimes hard to see. In our tainted world, you’ll find cruelty and harshness on every corner.
Jesus showed us repeatedly what love is. Talents and intentions may last for a season, but real love remains for a lifetime. The more time we spend in His Word and in His presence, the more loving we become. Love can tear down the highest emotional walls, break the darkest depression, and deliver the deepest hope. If I go through my day with an ugly, sour attitude, that is probably what I will generate in others. If, however, I sow seeds of love, then I will spread His love tangibly everywhere I go.
Be God’s extension of love that makes a difference for someone today. After all, when Love came down, He made all the difference in the world for you!
