A lot of lists get made at Christmas time. And the gift list is probably among the most pressing of them. You want to purchase things so you have time to wrap and send them, or so that what you want isn’t sold out. You certainly don’t want to miss the sales! One friend of mine had nearly crossed off everything from her list when her work responsibilities suddenly increased, making it look impossible to finish the shopping at all. She grew irritated. A few days before Christmas while waiting for her ride to work, she picked up her neglected Bible and re-read the Christmas story.
I believe if you do the same during these busy weeks, you will rediscover, as my friend did, the joy in the story of Jesus’ birth. As you ponder the miracle of God coming to earth to dwell among us, think of all Jesus accomplished in the short time He was here. The babe of Bethlehem brought with Him a joyful message of hope. We can experience that joy by receiving Jesus as our Savior. Our names are on His list, the most important list of
